"IDENTITY, PARTISANSHIP, POLARIZATION: How democratically elected politicians get away with autocratizing Hungary"

This timely conjoint survey research, co-authored with Professor Milan Svolik of Yale University (author of the influential "Polarization versus Democracy"), provides critical insights into the complex factors driving Hungary's autocratization. The study explores a key question: who in Hungary prioritizes democracy when faced with the choice between democratic values and partisan loyalty, policy preferences, or ideology?
